As a registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist, and the Director of The Melbourne Counselling my passion is to help clients move from pain and struggle towards inner health and well-being. When clients do the work, their lives transform for the better.
My professional approach is integrative and draws upon a range of learnings including psychodynamic psychotherapy, neuroscience, epigenetics, hypnotherapy, internal belief systems, BWRT and The Richards Trauma Process.
The therapeutic experience is unique to each client but draws upon one’s personal history to craft a cohesive and organised narrative, equipping clients with tools for growth and actualisation, and resolving past trauma experiences using The Richards Trauma Process. This powerful combination produces tangible results across many of life’s domains.
A few words about me. I arrived at this work later in life as it wasn’t until I experienced my own struggles in my late 30’s that I truly understood the profound change that can occur through the work of personal development and psychotherapy. From there I was motivated to return to study and retrained as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist. Since that time my passion in this field, particularly in the area of trauma recovery, has continued to grow and evolve.
In 2014 I move into private practice specialising in anger, anxiety, trauma, attachment disorders, and furthered my training in trauma through completing The Richards Trauma Process (2017) which has significantly enhanced my ability to help clients resolve their anxiety, depression and trauma.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts/ Social Sciences from Monash University, a Vocational Graduate Certificate in Bereavement Counselling & Intervention from the Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement, a Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy & Counselling from The Cairnmillar Institute, a practitioner in The Richards Trauma Process (TRTP) and a Level 1 practitioner in BWRT.
It is my intention to create a safe and affirming place where the work is enriching and empowering. I work across the whole spectrum of life events and utilise the client’s life experience, hidden knowledge of self, and innate capacity for growth to achieve tangible outcomes.
Areas of speciality include anger, anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, attachment disorders, relationships, grief & loss and PTSD.
